- This piece features Deluxeware’s original “Structure Knit” jersey — a fabric developed in-house to offer a unique balance of durability and comfort. Its distinct construction is what makes this T-shirt stand out from standard jersey styles.
The 8.5oz Structure Knit is produced on a rare 1950s vintage knitting machine owned by a single company in Japan. By alternating 16-count air-spun Z-twisted yarn with finer 20-count S-twisted yarn, the fabric achieves a stable jersey structure with almost no skewing — a construction quite different from traditional loopwheel jersey.
This special SZ structure helps the fabric keep its shape over time, resulting in a T-shirt that is both durable and comfortable to wear. Details include a triple-stitched binder neck and carefully shaped armholes for improved mobility and balance. A simple, everyday T-shirt built to last.
Note: About Z-twist and S-twist yarn
Z and S refer to the direction in which the yarn is twisted.
For an easy reference, it’s similar to denim:
Left-hand twill corresponds to Z-twist, while right-hand twill corresponds to S-twist. Alternating these twists helps stabilize the fabric and reduce distortion.
