- Warehouse’s vintage sweatshirt series draws inspiration from athletic sweatshirts produced between the 1930s and 1960s. By carefully studying original garments from the era, Warehouse reproduces the details that defined early sportswear, from fabric weight to sewing construction and overall wearability. Within the lineup, models such as 401, 403, 450, 468, and 483 each feature their own distinctive pattern and construction, making them long-standing classics in the brand’s collection.
The medium-weight fabric is slowly knitted in Wakayama on traditional loopwheel knitting machines. This slow knitting process creates a soft and airy fabric with natural elasticity that comfortably adapts to the body.
For colors such as Oatmeal and Grey, organic brown cotton yarn is used to enhance the depth and richness of the surface tone. The reverse side of the fabric is finished with a traditional brushing process — referred to by Warehouse as “cotton fleece” — which increases warmth while maintaining a soft and comfortable feel.
The 401 model features classic V-gussets at the neckline and set-in sleeves constructed with durable four-needle flat seam stitching, improving both comfort and durability. The rib hem is attached using a binder construction that overlaps the body fabric — a detail commonly found on sweatshirts produced before the 1930s.With wear and washing, the sweatshirt will gradually soften and develop its own character over time.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit. For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.
Body Length
- Measure from the center of the base of the collar (just below the collar band) straight down to the bottom hem.
