- The Samurai Jeans SJ42BP is a long-standing model in the brand’s line-up, combining the familiar construction of classic five-pocket trousers with Samurai’s original heavyweight back sateen fabric.
Different from the smoother sateen fabrics commonly associated with military trousers, this 15oz cotton back sateen is specially developed by Samurai with a firm structure and pronounced slubby texture, giving the fabric greater depth and presence. The olive colour is created using yarn-dyed threads and will gradually fade and soften with continued wear, developing a more personal character over time.
To complement the substantial fabric, the trousers are finished with custom iron palm-tree buttons and original jacquard-woven pocket bags. A silver-lamé selvedge ID runs along the edge of the fabric, symbolising the blade of a samurai sword and reflecting the brand’s identity and philosophy.
Note : Satin vs. Sateen
Satin is generally woven with smooth filament yarns, while sateen uses spun cotton yarns, giving it a firmer and more substantial texture.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit.For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.
Body Length
- Measure from the center of the base of the collar (just below the collar band) straight down to the bottom hem.
