- A timeless crew neck sweatshirt inspired by vintage American sportswear, elevated through one of Japan's oldest natural dyeing traditions. By combining classic double V-gusset construction with a unique Kakishibu overdyed finish, Samurai has created a sweatshirt that offers not only heritage styling, but also a character that will continue to evolve with wear.
The fabric is Samurai's original 14.5oz heavyweight jersey, custom knitted using open-end yarns to create a firm structure and a dry, textured hand feel. The high density fabric is first knitted using indigo-dyed yarn, then the finished sweatshirt is overdyed with Kakishibu (Japanese persimmon tannin).
Rich in natural tannins, Kakishibu gradually develops a deeper, warmer tone through exposure to sunlight and everyday wear. As the indigo slowly fades and the Kakishibu matures over time, the sweatshirt develops a unique colour and character that cannot be replicated, making each piece deeply personal to the person who wears it.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit.For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.
Body Length
- Measure from the center of the base of the collar (just below the collar band) straight down to the bottom hem.
