- The AI + Sakura Series explores a new expression of denim through the combination of indigo and natural sakura dyeing. The S500AX-SAKURA brings this concept to an 18oz selvedge denim, combining the distinctive colour of the series with Samurai’s classic straight five-pocket design.
The warp uses Samurai’s original hard-twisted slubby yarns, rope-dyed with a specially blended combination of natural indigo and synthetic indigo to create a deep, richly layered blue. For the weft, Samurai developed an original slub yarn blended with Samurai Cotton, then dyed using a special colour extracted from cherry blossoms (Sakura).
This distinctive warp and weft combination creates a subtle pink-beige sakura tone beneath the indigo surface, adding a soft contrast that gradually becomes more expressive with wear.
Finished with a full set of specially developed Sakura details, including silver-plated iron Sakura buttons and rivets, copper coin-style rivets, AI + printed pocket bags, and a dedicated leather patch with an individual serial number. These exclusive details give the S500AX-SAKURA its own character and make it a special model within the Samurai collection.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit.For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.
Body Length
- Measure from the center of the base of the collar (just below the collar band) straight down to the bottom hem.
