- The XX-003-IDBK is part of Pure Blue Japan's signature XX Series, combining the brand's iconic 14oz slub denim with a unique Indigo x Black color composition. Built on the familiar regular straight silhouette of the XX-003, this version offers a darker look and a different fading character compared to traditional indigo denim.
The fabric features rope-dyed indigo warp yarns woven with black weft yarns. Woven at low tension on vintage shuttle looms, Pure Blue Japan's XX denim is known for its rough texture, irregular slub character, and strong vertical fading. The black weft adds depth to the color and gives the denim a naturally darker appearance.
As the denim ages, the indigo warp gradually fades to reveal rich shades of blue, charcoal, and grey. Compared to standard indigo denim, the contrast remains more restrained, resulting in a deeper, more understated fading process that continues to develop character over time.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit.For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.
Body Length
- Measure from the center of the base of the collar (just below the collar band) straight down to the bottom hem.
