- Pure Blue Japan’s 5409-IDBK takes a classic crew-neck sweatshirt and gives it a different ageing character through an indigo base and sulphur-black overdye. A regular fit and raglan sleeves keep the shape relaxed and easy to wear.
The cotton jersey is slowly knitted with minimal tension, giving it a soft, full hand. Indigo-dyed yarns form the base before the finished sweatshirt is overdyed in sulphur black. With wear and washing, the black gradually fades and allows more of the indigo beneath to show through.
A front V-gusset, underarm gussets and ribbing at the neck, cuffs and hem give the sweatshirt its classic construction, while dark Shoai leaf embroidery keeps the finish understated. As more of the indigo begins to appear, the sweatshirt takes on a character that feels increasingly personal with time.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit. For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.
Body Length
- Measure from the center of the base of the collar (just below the collar band) straight down to the bottom hem.
