- The Freewheelers Lot 506 XX 1941 Type 1 Denim Jacket Denim Jacket is based on a transitional model produced for a short period in late 1941. It retains the design and construction of pre-war 506XX jackets while using the wartime denim introduced around this transitional period.

The jacket retains the key details of Type I denim jackets produced between 1937 and 1941, including a compact collar, front pleats reinforced with narrow box stitching, and an adjustable cinch back. The single left chest pocket retains its flap and is reinforced with custom copper rivets, alongside a single-sided red Vanishing West rayon tab. The front is secured with five unpainted iron buttons, made to reproduce the appearance of original period hardware.

While the construction follows the pre-war design, the jacket is made from Freewheelers’ Original 14oz WW2 Indigo Denim. Developed from the yarn up and slowly woven at low tension on vintage shuttle looms, the fabric uses long, uneven yarns in both the warp and weft to create a naturally hairy surface, rough texture, and substantial hand feel.

The warp is rope-dyed in a deep, slightly black-toned indigo to recreate the distinctive character of wartime denim, with the potential to develop strong vertical fading over time.
