- Inspired by vintage outdoor vests from the 1920s to 1930s, the “Speed Engineer” combines workwear function with a strong military feel. The pattern has been reworked with larger armholes, a longer body and adjustable straps at the hem, giving the piece a more balanced shape and greater practicality.
Built from Freewheelers’ Vintage Style Military Moleskin, the fabric is densely woven from thick cotton yarns. Its surface has been singed to remove the usual raised feel of moleskin, creating a clean and smooth finish while keeping the fabric firm and crisp. With its durable construction, it is a reliable piece made for many years of regular wear.
The deep V-neck, angled front placket and wide armholes allow it to be worn over anything from a T-shirt to a leather jacket. Two large gusseted zip pockets with inner dividers are placed across the lower front, while the back features an extra-large flap pocket. Together, they give the vest the storage of a small tool bag and a character all its own.
