- The FN-8004 is one of the most popular models in The Flat Head denim lineup. Designed with a higher rise and a wide tapered shape, it offers extra room through the thigh while narrowing toward the hem, creating a balanced profile that feels comfortable for everyday wear. The fit also works well for riding, providing both mobility and a clean look.
Built from an original 18oz selvedge denim woven at high density using thick weft yarns, the fabric has a firm hand and solid weight, delivering the tough, structured feel expected from heavyweight denim. Dyed in a deep, rich indigo, the fading develops slowly but reveals very dynamic contrast and depth over time — a character that The Flat Head is known for.
Signature construction details include raised center belt loops and an offset center back belt loop, along with original iron buttons and rivets for a rugged touch. Inside the back pocket, a bandana is folded and used like a flasher, adding a unique visual detail. The Japanese term “Doshaburi Fade” refers to the brand’s distinctive vertical fading — a hallmark look that sets The Flat Head apart from other Japanese denim makers.
