- Inspired by early 20th-century American tailoring, this 1910s-style sack jacket reflects a time when jackets were made for everyday wear rather than strict formality. Unlike military or work garments with rigid construction, the classic sack jacket minimizes heavy shaping, allowing it to fall cleanly from the shoulders. The silhouette is straight with a gentle flare toward the hem, expressing the understated character of early tailoring.
The fabric is an original indigo cotton cord cloth, a high-density material with roots in early military outerwear. Known for its use in garments such as U.S. Navy deck jackets, cord cloth is tightly woven for durability, wind resistance, and shape retention. Often referred to as jungle cloth, it was developed for performance in demanding environments.
Inside, the jacket is lined with a medium-weight yellow check cloth, creating a strong contrast against the indigo outer fabric. Construction details include Union Special two-needle stitching and natural nut buttons, reinforcing the jacket’s functional, period-inspired character while maintaining a clean and versatile appearance.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit.For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.

- Measure from the center of the base of the collar (just below the collar band) straight down to the bottom hem.
