- The Warehouse Lot 4601 classic T-shirt, also known as the “Shadow Border,” is inspired by vintage T-shirts from the 1950s. During this era, many T-shirts were made with irregular slub yarns that created subtle horizontal lines across the fabric. Warehouse carefully studied vintage materials to reproduce this distinctive texture, recreating the unique horizontal “shadow border” character found in original garments from that period.
The fabric is built from No.12 special slub yarn and knitted on a custom vintage-style sinker knitting machine from the 1960s. This process creates a fabric that is soft and breathable while maintaining a crisp and textured surface. The irregular slub yarn produces a distinctive “bamboo-like” texture, giving the fabric a lively appearance that develops beautiful contrast and fading with wear over time.
The body features tubular construction with no side seams, providing a comfortable fit and a clean silhouette. The neckline uses a double binder construction with two-needle stitching to enhance durability and maintain its shape. With a wide range of color options, the 4601 is an easy and versatile piece for everyday summer wear.
