- A happi coat is a traditional Japanese jacket originally worn by festival workers and craftsmen. It is known for its simple, open-front design, straight sleeves, and relaxed fit, allowing ease of movement.
This happi coat is made using Samurai’s signature 17oz Zero+ selvedge denim, characterized by its deep indigo tone and rough texture that develops high-contrast, beautiful fading with wear. The collar and front placket are finished with natural indigo-dyed reed-pattern fabric. The sleeve cuffs are lined with the same denim fabric, allowing the sleeve length to be adjusted by rolling them up.
