- The S211AX AI Plus shares its roots with the S211VX Benkei model, but is reinterpreted through Samurai’s signature AI Plus denim.
The 18oz AI Plus denim is developed from the yarn up, using No.5 × No.5 slubby yarns blended with Samurai’s organic cotton, grown at the brand’s own cotton farm in Hyogo Prefecture. This approach gives the fabric a naturally uneven surface and a rich, textured feel.
The warp yarns are dyed with a blend of synthetic indigo and natural indigo, resulting in deep blue tones with layered depth and character that evolve gradually with wear.
Additional details include a Benkei cowhide leather patch, hank-dyed with indigo, and AI Plus–printed heavyweight cotton pocket bags. These subtle elements set the S211AX apart from Samurai’s standard lineup while remaining true to the brand’s heritage.

Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width
- Measure straight across the front of the garment, from armpit to armpit.For size chart reference, chest measurement is shown as full circumference ( flat measurement x 2 ).
Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
Armhole
- Measure vertically from the shoulder seam down to the bottom of the armhole seam.
