The original selvedge denim is woven in the Bingo district of Okayama, one of Japan’s most respected denim-producing regions. The yarn is made from Supima cotton, known for its long staple fibers, resulting in a soft and smooth hand feel. The denim is unsanforized and finished in a one-washed state, resulting in a soft yet textured surface with subtle fiber character.
While designed as an easy denim trouser, the Gentle Pants are built with many thoughtful details beneath the surface. Creating a clean trouser silhouette using selvedge denim requires precise and careful pattern making. Shoulder Width
- Measure straight across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam on the back.
Chest Width

Waist Width
- Measure across the narrowest part of the shirt — from seam to seam — between the chest and the hem.
Hem Width
- Measure straight across the bottom edge of the shirt, from one side seam to the other — just above the curved hem.
Sleeve Length (Set-In)
- Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight to the end of the cuff.
Sleeve Length (Raglan)
- Measure from seam of collar all the way down to the end of the cuff.
