- The 601XX 1951 model is one of Freewheelers’ signature pieces, based on a slightly refined balance compared to the 1947 model. The rise is set a little lower, with a cleaner fit through the waist, giving it a more natural shape overall. The leg is kept slim but not tight, creating a straightforward silhouette that feels easy to wear.
The denim is Freewheelers’ original 14oz selvedge fabric, carefully developed from the yarn up. Built with a blended warp using five different cotton types and a softly twisted single-cotton weft, the fabric shows subtle nep and natural irregularity throughout. The 1951 model is also known for developing a deeper blue tone over time, with a vivid, vintage-style fade that highlights its character.
For the details, the 1951 model is packed with vintage-inspired elements, including custom white-painted iron buttons and a double-sided “V.WEST” rayon tag. The leather patch is made from untreated hide, designed to shrink and develop character through repeated washing, recreating the atmosphere of original vintage denim.
At the same time, it is offered in three different lengths — L30, L32, and L34 — allowing for more flexibility in everyday styling and an easier fit across different preferences. It’s a pair that carries all the depth of vintage denim, while still being practical and easy to wear on a daily basis.
